Providing a Safe and Productive Environment for Child Victims
Indiana’s Cherish Center provides education and advocacy for children subjected to abuse and neglect, assisting in more than 450 abuse cases since its inception. State and federal laws require any allegation of child abuse be investigated, so the Center includes a child forensic interviewing facility to accommodate these requirements.
Due to the importance of recording investigation information and a child’s behavior during an interview, the center needed a video surveillance system that could effectively monitor the interviewing facility. Their old system had become antiquated, was difficult to operate, and didn’t provide enough capacity for video storage.
This case study details how a system using Axis IP cameras and audio kits, along with exacqVision servers and software, provided a cost-effective, easy-to-use solution for the Cherish Center. The Center will be able to expand on the system as their needs grow and change, helping them to continue maintaining a safe, nurturing, and productive environment for child victims.
